Closing Africa’s Illicit Financial Flow Leakages
11 September 2026 · 14:30–16:30 CAT
Rescheduled from 28 August 2026
Illicit financial flows continue to deprive African countries of billions in public resources each year—undermining development, equity and trust in public institutions. Weak procurement controls, opaque ownership structures and limited cross-border cooperation remain key enablers.
This webinar will explore how strengthened PFM systems, enhanced procurement transparency and data-driven oversight can disrupt illicit financial flows and financial crime. Participants will examine how beneficial ownership frameworks, digital tools and coordinated enforcement can close critical leakages. The session will reinforce the Accountant-General’s role as a frontline defender of public resources and a key actor in national and regional anti-IFF strategies.
